About This Role
The Data Analyst / International Project Controller will support the controlling activities for international projects, specifically within the EMEA and International regions. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient project performance monitoring through data analysis, monthly reporting, and collaboration with internal teams to achieve optimal project forecast quality.
The role we are offering you:
- Assist in consolidating the monthly forecast for the D&S International segment, including preparing reports (e.g. financial variance analysis comparing actuals to forecast, budget, and prior year) for senior management.
- Contribute to the annual budget process by preparing the consolidated budget package, conducting ad hoc analysis, and reporting to upper management.
- Support the International Controlling team in planning, managing, and monitoring international projects.
- Develop and enhance Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to optimize data processing and presentation.
- Challenge processes and data to ensure high quality and accuracy.
- Identify risks and opportunities within projects and proactively contribute to finding solutions.
- Collaborate with international teams and manage queries from various departments to ensure the efficient implementation of project-controlling measures.
- Interact with corporate on a regular basis
- Ensure compliance with international controlling standards and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to special projects and collaborate with global teams on process improvement initiatives.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in project controlling, preferably in an international environment.
- Expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and common BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data analysis and presentation.
- Strong analytical mindset and affinity for working with numbers.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to challenge processes and develop solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to motivate colleagues to support with queries and collaborate towards shared goals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, international environment and meet deadlines.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional language skills are a plus.
- Experience in working with international teams and navigating cultural differences is desirable.
- Ideally, experience with Hyperion Financial Management and/or Hyperion Planning.
