Job Summary
We are seeking an Accounting Intern for Summer 2025. This in-person internship in Germantown, Maryland, provides hands-on experience in various accounting functions, offering interns valuable insight into the accounting lifecycle while working alongside experienced professionals.
Ideal candidates are rising juniors majoring in Accounting who are eager to apply their coursework in a real-world setting. This is a great opportunity to develop practical skills and gain exposure to the field of accounting.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform professional administrative work of an introductory nature in preparation for career advancement
- Perform entry-level professional administrative staff duties in support of functional areas, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility
- Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction
- Type and word-process draft documents and electronic information
- Prepare routine reports with guidance
- Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications
- Assist in arranging meetings, conferences, and project team activities
- Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to communicate successfully orally and in writing
- Ability to efficiently utilize standard office software and computer equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with working with Adobe PDF Files
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Prior experience working in an accounting office is a plus
- Able to commute to Germantown, Maryland daily (this is an in-person role)
The expected pay scale for this position is $23/hour - $25/hour. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
