About the role:
As a Travel and Expense Accountant, you will be a key member of the Travel and Expense Team and will support the revenue recognition and technical accounting functions within the department, providing excellent customer service for all travellers/bookers on Concur.
The position requires a detail-oriented individual who is hands-on and who can proactively work with members of corporate finance, business finance, product spaneting, and operations to properly recognize revenue and support internal and external financial reporting requirements.
What are your responsibilities?
- Auditing Parker employees’ expenses in accordance with company and local unit policies.
- Knowledge of expense-auditing rules for each spanet covered by the ESSC T&E team and acting as auditor / internal client support for those spanets.
- Familiarity with company policies and diligent adherence to them during expense audits.
- Posting financial documents — timely posting in line with accounting principles and corporate standards.
- Approval of postings — reviewing and approving entries in the accounting system.
- Control of liability balances — verifying employee balances and resolving discrepancies.
- Verification of Parker employee data — checking data accuracy in the accounting system.
- Responding to inquiries — providing information to business partners.
- Creating and updating SOPs — maintaining process documentation and other working papers.
- Preparing accounting documents — creating and posting documents (e.g., journal entries).
- Problem resolution — independently resolving posting-related issues.
- Month‑end close activities — tasks related to the month‑end closing process.
- Balance reconciliations — reconciling account balances.
- Monitoring reconciliations — verifying the correctness of payment and reconciliation processes in ledger accounts.
- Training employees on basic topics
- Onboarding new employees
What makes you a good fit for this role?
- Secondary education
- Proficiency in English (minimum B2)
- Proficiency in Portuguese ( B2/C1)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of MS Excel
- Basic knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) accounting
